Our learners are adults or youth not currently enrolled in school, and are a mix of English-speaking immigrant, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Canadian individuals, with varying literacy levels and learning goals.
Many learners are women and men working hard to re-enter the workforce or improve their employment conditions through upgrading of their basic skills.
Other learners are: upgrading so they can enter high school studies at an adult learning centre, studying to get their GED, or preparing to move on to community college.
Still others are seeking to improve their skills for personal reasons, such as being able to read to their children, write letters to family, read about their hobbies or to be able to access the wealth of information on the Internet.
The oldest learner we've ever had was 77. Our youngest is 20.
